About Learn Creole with Jorge
Learn Creole with Jorge is a Haitian Creole (Kreyòl Ayisyen) learning app for iOS and Android, built and published by Dalvin Digital Design. We help families, partners, travelers, and curious learners speak Haitian Creole through games, songs, videos, and short lessons rooted in Haitian culture.
Why we built it
Most big language apps treat Haitian Creole as an afterthought, if they offer it at all. We wanted a learning experience made specifically for Haitian Creole: one that teaches everyday words and phrases for talking with family, partners, and friends, and that shares the music, food, and stories of Haitian culture along the way.
What we make
The Learn Creole with Jorge app includes 10+ interactive games, 50+ vocabulary words, 20+ Haitian songs and videos, a daily Word of the Day, and progress tracking with badges and streaks. Lessons are also available on the web at learnwithjorge.net/learn.
We also publish bilingual children's books. "A Mile In My Shoes: Jorge's Journey from Haiti to America" (ISBN 9781734067873) by Dalvin Josias Sejour and Ashley Josias Sejour follows Jorge as he leaves Haiti for a new home in America. "Sundays with Patè" by Dalvin Josias Sejour celebrates the Haitian Sunday tradition of making patè.
Who is behind it
Learn Creole with Jorge is made by Dalvin Digital Design, the studio of Dalvin Josias Sejour, who also co-authored our children's books. The app and the books share one goal: making Haitian Creole meaningful, fun, and accessible for everyone.
